Requirements of a psychologist
The Commission of Psychologists (« Commission des Psychologues ») is responsible for checking that the professional that wants to work as a psychologist has got the required qualifications.
As a psychologist, I must respect the Belgian Code of Ethics for psychologists. In this framework are stipulated the requirements, the guidelines and the codes of conduct that my work as a psychologist rest on. These principles are based amongst others on responsibility, integrity, respect and expertise.
Modalities and fees
Consultations by appointment only.
Each session last generally from 45 to 50 minutes.
An individual consultation costs €50 per session. Payment can be made in cash at the end of each session.
If you cannot attend your consultation, please let me know at least 48 hours in advance. This way I might be able to help another person.
Psychotherapy sessions usually take place one every week or two weeks. This can vary according to the patient’s circumstances: it can go from few encounters to a longer period. We will decide together what would suit you best.
Reimbursement
Certain health insurance companies offer partial reimbursement on consultations. Private insurance companies support a much larger part of the fees, or even all the fees in some cases. I suggest you find out more directly with you insurance company to know the exact reimbursement figures and procedures.
